A brief biography:
Klaus D McDonald-Maier (nee Maier) was born in Biberach an der Riß, Germany, in the winter of 1969.
He went to the Wieland Gymnasium and Karl-Arnold-School in Biberach.
He studied Electronic Engineering at the University of Ulm (Germany), Cardiff University (Wales) , and the Grande École ‘École Supérieur de Chimie Physique Électronique de Lyon’ (CPE-Lyon, France), and obtained a Dipl.-Ing. and a Masters degree.
He became a Research Associate at the Biomechanics Group of the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena (Germany).
He did his doctorate (Dr. rer. nat.) at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena (Germany).
He worked as a system architect / concept engineer on processor cores and peripheral modules for Systems-on-Chip at Infineon Technologies AG, Munich (Germany).
He joined the University of Kent as Lecturer in the Department of Electronics.
